What happens when you use a tool

When you use a tool, what you typed is sent to our server, forwarded to Anthropic's API for analysis, and the result is sent back to you. After that request finishes, the text you typed is gone from our servers. It is not written to a database, not written to a file, and not kept in server memory after the response.

What we do keep (on our servers)

Your email address, if you gave us one. The name of the tool you used and the time you used it. Nothing about what you asked.

If you send feedback, we keep what you wrote in the feedback box, because that is how we find out what the tool got wrong.

What stays in your browser

To save you re-entering information across sessions, Ruck stores some data in your browser's localStorage — on your device, not our servers. This includes your service record details, your conditions list, and the most recent result from the gap checker, secondaries, and statement tools. Your symptom descriptions and answers are never stored — only the AI-generated results and condition names.

You can clear this at any time using the "Clear saved results" button in the footer of the tools page, or by clearing your browser's site data.

What we never keep (on our servers)

Your conditions. Your symptoms. Anything you paste from your file. Your rating. Your name.

Can anyone at Ruck see what I typed?

No. There is no screen anywhere that shows what people entered, because it is not stored on our servers. Ruck can see how many people used each tool and what they wrote in feedback.

The AI provider

Analysis runs on Anthropic's API. Anthropic's commercial terms state that inputs submitted through the API are not used to train their models. Their policy is theirs, not ours, and you can read it at anthropic.com.

Your email

Used to tell you when Ruck changes and to know who is testing it. Never sold, never shared, never rented. Email info@ruck.vet and we delete it.

Social Security numbers

Ruck never needs one. If we detect what looks like one, we stop and ask you to remove it before anything is sent.

This will change

Ruck is in beta and being built in the open. When how we handle data changes, this page changes first and we will say so.
